Macy's Signature Kitchen Brings Star Chefs to Costa Mesa

Macy's Culinary Council Chefs Cat Cora, Marcus Samuelsson and Nancy Silverton serve up their signature fare at a new restaurant in the South Coast Plaza Home Store

Costa Mesa, CA (December, 2008) - Beginning December 15, three Macy's Culinary Council chefs will come together for the first time at the new Signature Kitchen restaurant in the South Coast Plaza Home Store. Located on the first level, CCQ: Cat Cora's 'Que, Marcus Samuelsson's Marc Burger and Nancy Silverton's La Brea Bakery will create a one-of-a-kind dining experience for consumers by offering a dynamic blend of styles and flavors from these nationally acclaimed chefs in one convenient location.

"While each of us comes from a different orientation, our culinary styles have such synergy," explains Cat Cora of CCQ. "At Signature Kitchen we're showcasing our own unique interpretations of American classics - at CCQ, I've put a global spin on traditional Southern BBQ. The smoking techniques are time-honored but the flavors are fresh and new."

Cat Cora Takes BBQ Around the World
Cat Cora takes diners to far flung destinations at CCQ - by infusing classic barbeque with flavors from around the world. Tomato-based Asian Hoisin and Green Gaucho Chile Sauce make all-natural pulled pork and "slow and low" beef brisket mouthwatering standouts. For the true barbeque aficionado, add Pork and Beef Brisket "Burnt Ends" ($4.75) for the ultimate CCQ experience. Sides of pit beans, crisp slaw and a mop-worthy Cheddar & Scallion or Blue Corn & Jalapeno Madeleine complete the CCQ Platter ($11.95). Wash it all down with a Frosty Draft Root Beer ($2.50).

Marc Burger Reinvents the Iconic American Favorite
At Marc Burger, Marcus Samuelsson offers his eclectic take on the quintessential American meal, but with a decided twist - Cumin Infused Turkey Burgers ($7.95), Citrus-Glazed Mahi Mahi Fish Sandwiches ($10.95) and classic Grassfed Black Angus Beef patties topped with Lettuce, Tomato, Housemade Pickles and White Cheddar ($8.50) all vie for the top spot. Or live it up with Marc Burger's Signature Big Burger - Prime Beef Burger Topped with Housemade Steak Sauce ($10.95) and a Fried Egg ($11.95) - it is sure to satisfy even the biggest burger craving. Seasoned Garlic, Cracked Pepper French Fries ($1.95) and a creamy Classic Vanilla Frozen Custard Milkshake ($2.95) complete an ideal meal.

Nancy Silverton Lends Italian Flair to her California Style at La Brea Bakery
Nancy Silverton combines the rustic flavors of Italy and the clean, fresh tastes of California at La Brea Bakery. The classic Chicken Salad Sandwich is updated with Radicchio, Kalamata Olives, Roasted Garlic and a Whole Grain Mustard Vinaigrette ($8.50) and Turkey Proscuitto Panini features Marinated Bitter Greens, Fresh Sage and Provolone Cheese on Country White Sourdough ($9.95). Served with a fresh house salad or a daily featured soup, Silverton delivers the impeccable flavor combinations she's made famous.

"We are thrilled to be the first store to offer Signature Kitchen to our customers and welcome such esteemed chefs to Macy's South Coast Plaza, said Sue Graham, Vice President and Store Manager, Macy's South Coast Plaza. "Signature Kitchen provides aspirational cuisine in an accessible way and demonstrates our commitment to making Macy's the ultimate dining and retail destination".
