One of the key tools we use is online recruiting through www.macysJOBS.com and www.bloomingdalesJOBs.com. These sites allow visitors to research a wealth of career information, search for positions by location, department or title, and apply online. In 2007, a record 7.2 million visitors reviewed these sites, resulting in 98,000 new hires for the company. Beginning in 2008, the company is rolling out integrated employment kiosks at its largest hiring divisions, allowing applicants to apply online in stores and support locations.
The Macy's, Inc. college recruiting program is another important tool to ensure we continue to have the best talent.
The unified college recruiting approach of "one company-two brands," with Macy's and Bloomingdale's recruiting together on campus, continues to be very powerful. this year, the company will hire approximately 700 full-time students into our executive development programs from more than 90 schools. the schools where we have multiple divisions recruiting on campus yield double-digit hiring numbers, a significant achievement.
