Spectacular Macy's Events Create Magic

Fashion with compassion
Glamorama
A fashion tradition in Chicago and Minneapolis each fall, "the Good, the Bad and the Beautiful" in 2007 was a fusion of funky urban country and couture. Headlined by the chart-topping MuzikMafia starring Warner Bros. records' Big & rich, Gretchen Wilson and Raybaw/Warner Bros. records' Cowboy troy, Macy's runway show kicked off the season with Wild West panache. Featured designers included Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Moschino, John Varvatos, Calvin Klein, Temperley London, Just Cavalli, Michael Kors and Alberta Ferretti. In the History of the celebrity-packed charity shows, nearly $8 million has been raised for the art Institute of Chicago and the Children's Cancer research Fund in Minneapolis.

Passport 2008 marks the silver anniversary of passport, Macy's highest-profile fundraising event on the west coast, focused on raising awareness and money for HIV/AIDS organizations. The 2007 show this year commemorated the people on the front lines of the epidemic. Passport honors those who have lost their lives, those currently infected and fighting, as well as the caregivers, researchers and educators. Passport began as an awareness-raising fashion show in 1982 and has blossomed into one of the longest-running HIV/AIDS events of its kind. Since becoming a fundraiser in 1988, passport has raised approximately $27 million. At the San Francisco show, guests were treated to celebrities and performances by the cast of Cirque Du Soleil. At the Los Angeles show, Dame Elizabeth Taylor received the Humanitarian award for AIDS activism in recognition of her tireless commitment and Sharon Stone emceed a live auction prior to the runway show.
