Spectacular Macy's Events Create Magic

Macy's Annual 4th of July Fireworks
The annual Macy's 4th of July Fireworks is America's largest fireworks show, a pyrotechnic marvel choreographed to a sweeping, heroic score brilliantly played by the New York Pops. The 2007 theme, "In Pur Children's Eyes," celebrated the patriots, pioneers and even superhero childhood idols that have shaped the fabric of America.

Dazzling more than 3 million spectators in New York City, as well as a national television audience, the amazing display of pyrotechnic firepower launches 1,300 shells per minute. Eight barges at the command of a computer fire the shells so that each is timed to fire and burst to the beat of the music. The highlight of the show is always the famed Golden Mile, a multi-layer explosion which stretches across the skyline filling it with a golden light from 1,200 feet in the air to the water's edge.
